China Highway and Transportation Society and TRB jointly convened a U.S.-China Mobility Management Meeting on August 26, 2020 online. The theme was " Transit Linkages with New Mobility and Micro-Mobility, And The Survival of Both Post COVID-19."
Eight panelists shared their views on the decline in public ridership worldwide with COVID-19, (for their detailed bios, find the Agenda above), which is on top of the slow ridership declines that have been witnessed over the past decade almost everywhere in the US. This webinar also discussed how the Chinese and US governments react differently to the situation where ride-hailing and micro-mobility companies struggle for survival.
The three-hour webinar worked to find a policy or technology solution that responds to the three industries. Cross-sectoral and global partnerships were emphasized and called on for post-pandemic reconstruction.
The China-EU Mobility Management Meeting, the 2nd webinar of a series will be convened on 15th, Oct. 2020, focusing on Smart Cities and Green Mobility.
